First words

Ruth 2:3-4       [3] So [Ruth] went.  She came and gleaned in the field behind the reapers.  As it happened, she came to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimech.  [4] Just then Boaz came from Bethlehem.  He said to the reapers, “YHWH be with you.”  They answered, “YHWH bless you.”

I can imagine a world where our first word to one another is a blessing.

I can imagine a world where our first thought is, ” How can I help you?”

I can imagine a world where our first action is loving one another.

I can imagine a world where our first taste is the fruit of the Spirit.

I can imagine a world where our first smell is being of the world.

I can imagine a world where all people feel like beloved children of God.

May you see a glimpse of this world today.

Shalom

  1. and that they actually mean it… rather than the rhetorical “how are you?” which sounds so nice and concerned on the surface, but rarely has any actual weight behind it…
